Allison

Nick and I have always wanted to take pictures of one of my best friends daughter. I finally borrowed her and had a blast shooting Allison! She is already super cute in her everyday outfits, but I wanted to show off the little princess in her. Of course, I had to sneak Kaiden in, our daughter. They are stuck to each other like glue.

The best part about the photo shoot was seeing Alli be herself from beginning to finish. Upon arriving at the park, Nana says, "Alli, hay que ponerte tu vestido." Alli's response, " NO!" Translation: Nana, "Alli, lets get your dress on." Alli, " No!" But once she had her dress on, she was all smiles posing and walking around : ) Both Nana and Kaiden were very helpful in getting Alli's attention during the shoot. They made her laugh and called her over when I needed her to walk in a certain direction.

Overall, a great experience!

I cannot wait to take more pictures of kids!

Cravens Family

Our first kinda large (12 people) family shoot! And oh man... it's tough to keep everyone "interested" during the shoot especially when over half of them are teenagers :) Also definitely next we need to make sure everyone leaves their smartphones and sunglasses and anything in their pockets in the car! What's bad on mine and Monica's part is we didn't notice these little things til during the post-processing. That's something we gotta work on!

All in all, I think these turned out very well. Of course there were some poses that we did but they just didn't turn out well when we actually saw them on the computer, which is a bummer too since we liked some of them. Gotta get more consistent! Although I can't wait to see how our photos improve over the next year and how much better these family shots turn out! Anyway, enjoy the photos!

7th Annual TAAF Walk

Monica and I had the privilege of being able to take photos at the 7th Annual TAAF Walk this past Sunday. I had been designing the brochures and tshirts for this event since its inception, and this was my first time being able to make it to the walk and it was a pleasure being able to witness the joy and strength many of these people have. Please visit www.taafonline.org for more information on this awesome organization!!

This was our first "event" we shot, and as always, we keep learning! Definitely a lot different than shooting kids and families in a setting that we can control. One big thing we learned is that we definitely need a midrange zoom for this stuff. Especially for a walk/race. These fixed-length primes are tough to shoot when people keep moving! Well, that's what Monica said as I had the easy job of manning the group photos post, haha! Anyway, only sharing a couple of photos this time! Enjoy!

We got our own sign! We're official!

Gee Family

Monica and I had a chance to shoot my buddy Simon and his family! He always let us borrow his lens for pretty much everything so this one was on the house! As always, each one of these shoots we keep learning more and more, this one I think we learned that we have to figure out how to get little kids to pose how we want them too! And we definitely have to do some studying on some structured family posing!

Either way, a fun shoot!
